Normally I go to a Catholic Church always full of immigrants. The faces just tell all at times. Tired people, exhausted from long weeks of intense work at kitchens, laundry places; gardeners, cleaners, tree cutters for Christmas, even Lawyers or Physicians go to this place. They are just not here to take others money, they are here to work , something difficult to do if you come from a place embattled in war, political unrest or plainly without a future for your family. Indeed, the law should be respected, many have taken years of legal process to get a green card or citizenship, but will be interesting to see one of the many critics to put themselves in the shoes of a desperated mother, whose husband was killed by the Mafias, left everything except her three kids and crossed the border in the middle of the night !!!. Will be difficult to reconcile the lawful with the ethical principles in many of this cases. A wall ??, why not a just and humane reform of the immigration process instead. JM
